I loved oreo! I mean who doesn’t? That being the case, I wanted to learn how to make oreo cake pops so that I rounded up a bunch of easy cake pops recipes to teach myself how to do it. If you want to learn how to make oreo cake pops, you will find the following step by step guide very useful.
Oreo cheese cake balls recipe
This simple oreo recipe can be done with the right ingredients and a couple of cake pops tips that I am going to show you. Here is what you need to prepare:
- 1 roll of oreo cookies
- a box of cake mix
- oreo frosting
- lolly sticks
- dark or white chocolate
Here is the recipe for making orea cake pops:
Step 1: Crush the oreo cookies using a food processor. Make sure that you grind them until they are very fine.
Step 2: Bake the cake using the instructions on the cake mix. I am using the Betty Crocker gluten free yellow cake mix for its softness. I also intentionally choose a gluten free cake mix for the benefit for readers who can only take gluten free cake pops.
Step 3: Once the cake is done, crumble it using a fork. Then mix in the oreo frosting to the mixture. I used 2 packs of the oreo ultimate frosting as shown in the image below:
Step 5: Roll up the crumpled cake mix into cake balls using an ice cream scoop. Two scoops are combined to form one cake pop. Lay out them on a baking sheet without touching each other. Proceed to put them in the freezer for at least 20 minutes.
Step 6: Stick the cake pops sticks into the cake balls. You can buy these sticks at Amazon. Once the sticks have been inserted, leave them in the freezer for 24 hours.
Step 7: Melt the chocolate and coat the cake pops in it. You will want to over heating the chocolate to to prevent them from clumping together. This is done by using a double broiler to melt the chocolate. Using this will allow this to you to better control the heat.
